25 conditions that my future spouse needs to satisfy [1,2]

1.       He is willing to cook. I want someone who can cook with me and enjoy being with me in the kitchen. But his ability of cooking should be lower than that of mine. He does not skip breakfast in the morning but knows how to accept what he has in the morning. Because my father always wants rice, not bread even for one single day. Also my daddy eats only rice which is done each time. He never eats rice that is done one day or even several hours ago. But he likes to cook so he always cooks something special usually on Sunday.

2.      He should respect my family, parents, and culture. Being polite is the most important.

3.      He likes to listen to music. Also he should be okay to turn up the music up to at least 30 in the aux in car. I am planning to have the best quality home theater.

4.     He should be a driver who has never experienced car accidents. That means he should be a best driver without any damage to his car but only with safety. But, he should not drive slowly. He should not be one who swears while he is driving and getting mad. He knows how to be patient and tolerant in a case such as waiting for the old to cross the way.

5.      He knows how to get along with children, especially our kids. I do not like a father who is busy all the time and does not have enough time to share with his kids. He knows how to be both a friend and a father when circumstance requires. Since my childhood, my father has been the best daddy ever because he has been really friendly, kind, humorous, and benevolent. He also scolds at us sometimes if we are doing something bad or wrong. My daddy took my brother and me to play sports especially soccer every Sunday.

6.     He likes to go shopping! Oh, not for fancy clothes but for groceries. I think it is such a nice picture when a husband and a wife push a shopping cart together and discuss what they are buying. I want to do that! On Sunday morning, we drive to a mart, shop, have lunch there, and come back home!

7.      He is artistic. I don’t mean he should be professionally artistic. But he knows how to draw a picture, paint, design, or build something. I do not want him to have any professional skills but at least try.

8.     He should be collaborative with me when it comes to housework. I will be still working after I get married. So I cannot do housework by myself. When I wash the dishes, he organizes some stuff. When I sweep the floor, he does the vacuum clear. I want someone who can help me. Because I heard some do not even move his fingers at all.

9.     He is clean. Not messy. He should put his clothes back to where they were. He should know how to tie his neck tie and have a fashion sense. I like dandy style though.

1.       Smoking and drinking regularly is not allowed. He should not be the one who knows how to enjoy the alcohol party with friends. He should not enjoy and miss that atmosphere.

2.      No sleeping habits such as snoring or teeth-thingy. Since I am a person who can barely listen to other things while I am sleeping, I need someone to be aware of sounds or movements while he is asleep. But he shouldn’t be so sensitive that he easily wakes up because of tiny little distracting factors.

3.      My future husband should bear baby crying. I hope he could take care of my baby when I am exhausted. My dad was not the type who would willingly bear with baby crying. When I was a baby and cried really hard, my dad could not hear I crying anymore and he put me in the closet. He let me cry in the small dark room until I stop crying. I do not have memory of being captured in a closet, of course. However, I did not feel good about that my dad just put me in the closet not trying to make my stop crying or at least just let me keep crying until I stop. I hope my future husband would not just throw all the baby sitting to me and watching tv. I with my husband who would help his wife doing babysitting even though he have never done it before and not really good at it.

13. Good manners in restaurants, or public.. Not easily express emotions in public.
14. Always trust each other
15.    No complain as a whining  big baby

My favorite school lunch

I do not eat school lunch these days but my favorite school lunch is Club Hoagie. It is a sandwich with a whole wheat grain bread, pepperoni, salami ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. I do not put tomatoes and cucumbers but always two mayonnaises. I am not a big fan of sandwich but since I usually get Subway sandwiches at least once a two week, I consider Club Hoagie as favorite school lunch. It is easy to eat and tastes good!

However, when I first came to SIS, I was somewhat surprised at school lunch. You know how delicious school lunch is in Korea. Well, actually, I never thought our middle school lunch is good until I came to Saipan. My first school was NMA and we had to go to Snack bar to grab a meal. The lunch was 5 boxes and every day using 5 boxes for lunch was somewhat wasting of money to me because I couldn’t finish them all. So I always wish Saipan school would have the same lunch program as our school in Korea has. When I came to SIS at the first time, I somewhat had a negative opinion on it. School lunch was different from what I expected by watching American movies. I thought that there would be a big school cafeteria where students can grab whatever the food served at the container; just like buffet if I will. Students have some problems with choosing a seat and eat their lunch with. I thought I would have that kind of problem. It turned out to be that there is no such thing as a school cafeteria but I had some problem with having some people to eat my lunch with. Any food served at my school did not arouse my appetite but the weird name sandwich did. After I realize that there is actually some food that I can truly enjoy even at American school, I was waiting for the school lunch when the menu was weird sandwich with chocolate milk. One thing I feel sad about my favorite sandwich is the size. It used to be bigger than now but it seemed like our school has changed the provider of Lunch Company two times. As we had gone through that, the size of my lovely Club Hoagie got smaller! OMG! That makes me really sad. Even they don’t give you chocolate milk unless you ask for.

I am not going to miss School lunch in Saipan. I miss school lunch in Korea. One thing that Saipan International School needs to change is definitely SCHOOL LUNCH.

My most prized item

My most prized item is Bbomy!!!!! My lovely cute little sister! She is my only family member who stays with me both in Korea and in Saipan. She wakes up with me, spends time with me, gets sleep with me, and is always next to me. I have been with Bbomy since I was 2 years old. My grandfather, who passed away when I was in 2nd grade, gave me Bbomy as a birthday present. It is a cute and gorgeous little (?) doll who has light brown hair with some curls. My grandmother or mother always braided her hair with her pink hat.
Bbomy is different from any other dolls. She is not like a Barbie who has skinny body with long straight hair. As I take off her shirt from her, Bbomy is from Mimi World in 1994. She has a strong good-looking body shape, nice light blue and pink one-piece, pink shoes with white socks. However, as time goes by, I had been careless so l lost almost her belongings. She is just left with light blue and pink one-piece. No hat, shoes, socks or even underwear. L I feel sorry for her. Over a decade of time just lets this happen.
One true fact that never changes is that I sincerely care for her, and love her. When I was little, I did not play with any Barbie but only with Bbomy. One of my cousin sister bought me Barbie doll from the United States. She said it is a hot new released doll. I said Thank you but I spend more time with Bbomy than with Barbie doll. Also I remember one time when my mother or brother was scolding at me. I think I was doing something wrong or pestering my mom for something I wanted to get. My mother yelled at me “I will throw away Bbomy if you keep bothering me!” And of course, little Ashley, who was afraid, stopped crying and hugged Bbomy with a happy or released face. J
She is that precious. I decided to go to Saipan to study and without any hesitation I put Bbomy in my backpack to take her with me to Saipan. So basically, Bbomy is my one and only family member who has been in Saipan and gone through everything with me. When I had a hard time, it was Bbomy who was next to me without any words to support me. I rely on her very much. Without her, I would have felt lonelier than I had been with her. I used to make Bbomy take a shower regularly but these days I am getting lazy and somewhat neglected to her since I am too busy. This could sound like an excuse but yeah. I should have put more care for her. After one month, I am done with my Saipan life. I will say good-bye to Saipan while I will be holding Bbomy in my hands. And we will go back to our lovely home together. I always appreciate to my grandfather for such a little angel baby <3

Spring Musical

Spring Musical / Flam tree festival
Spring Musical is coming soon! Its next Friday and I feel like we are not ready at all. Basically, this year is really different from last year. Everybody was passionate, almost ready to perform perfectly before few days, and worked hard. Even I was so into spring musical that I spent all my free time to work on dance. Also I took an audition, practiced singing, and sang Marry You with my friends. The most memorable one is special stage by me, Seri, Sooho, Christine, Minchang, and Jeonghwan. We had good time practicing it and also got great reputation and fame. I remember that I practiced it every day for few hours.
Next Friday, my last musical in my high school is coming. Our class is not ready as much as you did last year. My Korean fellows are also not ready for special stage. We are lack of practice since we are getting lazy and being seniorities. I feel like my class does not care about musical at all. Even Dr. Jenkins does not care about this musical too much since it is his last year. I dont know well but this is what Ms. Jang told me. She said that Dr. Jenkins is getting lazy as well and keeps saying Dont worry. Oh. We can do that. Whatever. This somewhat surprises me and disappoints.  Also for our special stage we are just planning to do the only one song while we did 2 songs mixed last year. But the only one song is not even ready yet. It is hard core dance as Shinee dances it. Last year we were doing cute, funny, somewhat powerful dance but this year we were doing really powerful and masculine dance. But! Whatever! I do not worry! We are going to make our last stage to the best as we can!
Flame tree festival is annually held around this time when the trees are about to bloom. The red flame trees are all opened along the beach road. Sablan or Camacho brought flame tree seeds which were located in Madagascar. I think he did good job on that. Under those red trees, the festival is open and all the performances and foods are there. Here on Saipan where there is nothing to do really for fun, people could gather together and enjoy the party atmosphere. My friend Abel is planning to sing on the stage so I will probably go there and cheer for him.
These two events would be all my last ones. Last musical and last flame tree festival on this Island. This makes me sad and at the same time pleasant since I was always waiting for my last moment of Saipan. And seriously, just one month left till my graduation. And every life in Saipan would end. I might not see my non-Korean friends again or might see my Korean fellows at least once or twice a year.  I want to spend my last one month wisely and memorably.

Senioritis

Senioritis
When I googled “Senioritis”, this was the perfect definition of it- Senioritis is a common disease which plagues high school seniors at one point during their last year in high school. The only known cure is a phenomenon known as Graduation.
I do not know who wrote the definition but did good job on that. Also the paragon of senioritis is that I do not even want to write this. No passion to write a journal. This applies to all the seniors over the world.  They do not feel like doing assignments and going to class even to school. In the second semester, especially, when every college applications are submitted, seniors get lazy and relaxed. Moreover, if college acceptance letter comes out, that’s the time of extreme senioritis.
I thought I would not (NEVER) be infected by senioritis disease. But surprisingly, I am infected now. But I am trying to cure this disease. Since I am planning to go to college in Korea, I have to do my best and end my second semester with the grade I can get the most. But it is true that I am getting lazy. Usually, before, my daily life was like this. Okay. I wake up in the morning, take a shower or not, eat breakfast or not, go to school, come back home, do my homework, eat dinner, do my homework or study, exercise, take a shower, and go to bed! Simply, this is it! Repeat every day. My daily life. But now, the situation is way different.  I wake up in the morning around 6 o’clock, head to Hyatt for shower, come back home, have a breakfast, go to school, come back home, go to Java Joes or Hyatt for shower and exercise, do dance practice, and go to church twice or sometimes three times a day. Looks like busy? Yea, definitely I am. I think going to church makes my time fly away. Especially, my weekends. At church, I spend my all weekends at church. And when I come back home on Sunday, I feel like doing nothing at all. Like a song of Bruno Mars “The Lazy Song”.
But I always try to set my mind firm and do my best to do whatever I do. Whether it’s dance, studying, assignments, or sports, I am trying to escape from senioritis. But it is true that I am under senioritis. But I can’t let myself follow that path because I still have another step or door to take or open. Korean Colleges. I have to finish school with the grades I can get the most and minds that are ready for competitive Korean students. I am really worried right now about my colleges and future but I know I will do well and everything would be alright. Go away Senioritis! Or come on only cure, Graduation!

My toes

My toes! They are not that pretty but good enough to look at. Only uniqueness of my toes is that my pinky is longer compared to others. My brother is always teasing me or showing surprise at my long pinky.

I do not like manicure or pedicure. I do not put any color on my toes but there is a funny episode related to my first pedicure. When I was in 9th grade, I stayed with Yu Kyung. She was my both home mate and roommate. She loves doing manicure and pedicure so she always practices. She likes to look for new colors and try them on her nails. She is so professional that she uses sponges, tapes to make shapes. And the most important thing is that she knows that I do not like to color my nails or toes. One night, I was sleeping on her bed. I remembered that I slept somewhat earlier than before. If I am falling asleep and in my dream, I barely feel anything nor hear anything. However, when I woke up in the next morning, I screamed. I saw my toes when I got up and said “Oh my God”. Yu Kyung was sleeping right next to me on the same bed and she woke up because of my words. She just smiled at me and that was it. I asked her “What did you do last night? What happened?” And the truth is.. She was so bored that she needed to find something for fun. She looked at me sleeping unconsciously and saw my toes. She said my toes looked so plain that she wanted to make them pretty. So she went to her nail art box and took out pink OPI nail to color my toes. And she did! The most amazing thing is that she even used scotch tapes to make some shapes and I did not even notice what she was committing last night. I did not even feel any spreading on my toes or taping on my toes! I sleep just easy and deeply. How could this happen? How can you not notice somebody touching my toes and having fun with them? It was hilarious in that morning. I thought Yu Kyung was crazy as well. HAHAHA. My friend. So that was my first time to do something to my toes. I do not know whether my toes enjoyed being colored or not but that memory was unforgettable episode for her and me. We always talk about it whenever we meet together and reminiscence the past in Saipan.

Right now, I colored my toes with light pink and gold glitters. They are done by Euna just for prom. After prom night, I wanted to remove them from my toes but I do not have nail polisher! So they are still on my toes. It will be gone someday. I just love my plain but beautiful toes.

What makes us live?

What makes us live?

What makes me live? Love makes me live. I love my family, my friends, and people. As my beloved people are with me, I can live and have a happy life. Imagine the world where there is no family, friends, or people beside me. I may not want to continue living my life but just die. Without love, I would be nothing, not the one I am right now. I will feel lonely, empty, nothing, and mostly suicidal. I cannot live this whole wide world by myself. Well, honestly, under some circumstances, I could but my life would be miserable. The existences of my father, my mother and my brother make me feel alive and rely on. Even though I am here, in Saipan by myself, the fact that my family is in Korea makes me comfort and release from stress or loneliness. Also, whenever I feel homesick or miss them, I keep myself up and imagine the picture of reunion with my beloved ones. My love for family is unconditional. In my opinion, there are many kinds of love such as for family and for friends. But the common notion those loves are sharing is their beauty.  Whether the love is given or gives, the way of love itself is beautiful in every ways. There are some articles about suicide. According to them, people tend to commit suicide when they feel lonely or empty. This is from lack of love and care. The people who committed suicide were all hermits or thrown away by their beloved family or lovers such as betrayal. That causes those catastrophes.  People all around need love. There is a song named ‘All you need is love.’ Love cures everything such as pain, suffering, past or anger. I feel that and I realize that. I miss my mom and dad and brother a lot. It has been a long time that my family did not gather together to stay at home. I have been at Saipan since 9th grade, my brother had been outside of Korea for 4 years, my daddy goes around for work and teaching and my mother is the one who stays at home usually. So it was only summer vacation and winter vacation when our family could get together, have a meal, eat out or do something as a family. Especially, I miss Sunday’s breakfast the most since that is the time when my family is sitting around, talking, eating my mommy’s yummy food and share love together. And now it’s the time for me to escape from Saipan and go back to mama and papa. A little baby has been tired and suffered from outside environment and it’s time for her to go back, take some rest, and heal peacefully.

Technology that empowers me

The technology that empowers me is my lovely I-touch. I have been using it for 2 years but since I dropped my first baby into toilet, I got my new second baby. Without it, I can not live properly!  I cannot say that I am really addicted to it but I can say that I hold it with me everywhere I go and always care about it. It is like my other self. I did not have any smart phone or I-touch when I went to school in Korea. I came to Saipan and since then, I need a thing that allows me to contact with people in Korea or get connections with a big world. I am not using a smart phone here because I see no reasons for getting a phone here. I go to school, go to Hyatt and go home. That is my everyday schedule. I do not really need to contact people in Saipan but in Korea. Through chatting programs such as Kakao-talk and facebook messages, I can keep in touch with my friends or teachers. I hope my teacher would not read my journal that I am writing now because I am confessing that I check my I-touch regularly at school. Of course, this causes me some problems such as teacher’s taking it away from me. I do not know why I keep checking my I-touch but I guess I am somewhat expecting some messages to pop up. You can say that I am addictive. But, I think my conditions could not satisfy the definition of addiction. If I do not have my I-touch, I will be sad, of course but I will not shake my hands or keep going crazy.  I am not that into it. But I can say that I cannot live without it. I guess I am thinking that way because I am in Saipan right now by myself. I miss my mom, dad, brother, my boyfriend, and my friends. Every time I look at newsfeed in facebook, I literally wish I would be in Korea and spend time with my fantastic people. Therefore, a red I-touch means a lot to me. It is all about my connections. Last winter, specifically on Christmas’ eve, I dropped my white 4-th generation I-touch into a toilet while I was relieving myself. I was shocked, panic, and at awe. I lay down and could not think of my future without I-touch. Taek looked at me and ordered a red brand new 5-th generation I-touch for me without letting know me. For a week when I-touch was not delivered yet and did not know he ordered it for me, I actually went to apple store twice and think about getting a new one. He deterred me from an action and I got my new lovely I-touch in a week. I was surprised, happy and felt that my life was back. Okay, this story reflects me as an addictive teenage to a device but this is true. But the little device does not affect my life negatively. It affects more positively than negatively. It is like a small laptop so whenever I am lazy to get my laptop out of my bag, I use my I-touch to search, listen to music, watch something, chat with my friends, and use apps wisely. Apple company is genius. I am 100% confident that true population of apple users have the same symptoms as I have.
